I started in 2004, right out of college. I was hired into collections and looking back, I am so thankful I was able to gain experience in such an important area. I was able to learn many facets of our business through collecting. As an account representative, I was challenged to become an excellent time manager, communicator and improve on my organizational skills. Those attributes along with everything I learned are directly related to my current success. In 2006, I was given the opportunity to become a supervisor within a collections team. I was anxious and excited; I had worked hard for this promotion. I could not imagine the amount of priceless experience I would gain. Through this position, I became skilled at interviewing, teaching, managing, motivating, encouraging, and leading a team. What I learned from this position I have been able to apply to all aspects of my life. It truly was priceless experience.
In 2008, my hard work and commitment paid off again. I was promoted to a Special Projects/Compliance role. In this role, I am a liaison between computer programmers, compliance and servicing. I report directly to our Vice President and I love my job. Words cannot express how thankful I am to work for a company that has recognized and rewarded my hard work and dedication. Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc. has been a blessing to me.
