Inspiration, experience and creativity – check out how Ashley Beseda remodeled the primary bathroom in her manufactured home!
If you are looking to remodel your current primary bathroom, or for a home with bathroom materials from great brands, you will be excited about our most recent partnership with Ashley Beseda!
If you haven’t been following along with Ashley’s journey, she purchased her Clayton Built® home in 2015. Since then, she has inspired others through her DIY and remodeling projects as she has transformed her home into something truly unique for her family.
We recently partnered with Ashley on her latest project, her primary bathroom remodel. Ashley transformed her bathroom into a space that matches the rest of her style and also talked about some of the popular home building brands that Clayton uses in our bathrooms. After her project was complete, the design team at Clayton’s Home Innovation Lab sat down with Ashley to discuss her project, style and home.
Q: When did you decide to remodel your home?
A: I got into renovating our house to keep myself busy… Well, I get bored looking at the same thing all the time, which is why our house is constantly changing.
Q: I know you lean more toward farmhouse with all the woods, but what would you really define your style as?
A: You know, I really don’t know what my style is anymore. It’s mostly just whatever makes me happy, honestly.
Q: What gave you the inspiration to make your bathroom so funky and fun?
A: That’s really just who we are. We don’t like to do things the normal, I guess, traditional way. We like to make everything we do our own.
Q: How long did it take you from start to finish?
A: About a month and a half. We did everything ourselves.
Q: What was the most fun about this renovation?
A: Designing it. I had a whole mood board planned out with exactly what we were going to do.
Q: What was the most challenging part of this project?
A: The vanity. We built it ourselves and initially I wanted it to just be a floating vanity but it was so heavy that we had to add some legs on the front.
Q: Can you give us an explanation of the elements you used?
A: So, we stained the vanity with a white stain to cancel out the yellow color. We went with gold mirrors, and then green wainscoting on the walls. For the shower we did black in the little niche and carried the brass over into the shower as well. Our little closet doors were kind of a last minute decision, but I love the way they turned out.
Q: What drew you to the straight stack pattern on the floor? Because it’s coming back [in style].
A: Honestly, I’m just obsessed with it. I really like the look of it. I don’t love the staggered look so much.
Q: Where do you pull most of your inspiration from?
A: Usually Pinterest and Instagram.
Q: Are there any designers you follow for inspiration?
A: Studio McGhee, Remington Avenue, Angela Rose Home, Arrows and Bone, and Living with Envy.
The above designers are not affiliated with Clayton.
Q: What projects have you planned for the future?
A: We’re in the process of [working on] the kitchen right now. We are about halfway done. We are winding down on the huge tearing down and apart projects. We are going to do a couple things in our bedroom and in the kids’ bedrooms.
