Building a Better Tomorrow

At Clayton, we strive to drive change and do good, not only for our communities but for our planet.

The Way We Build

Resource Management

We leverage our vertically integrated business model and produce many of our own materials, including lumber, siding and sheetrock. This approach allows us to efficiently manage resources, reduce packaging waste and establish recycling partnerships with our vendors. These sustainable practices help us reduce construction costs and make our homes more attainable.

Clayton Supply

Renewable Energy

Clayton® is deepening our commitment to renewable energy by increasing our reliance on solar, with installation at our home office in Tennessee and home building facilities in Tennessee, Arizona and Texas. Combined, these systems are projected to generate over 2.9 million Kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually to help power Clayton’s operations and home building functions.

Clayton Built® Partners

We partner with some of the world's leading home building brands to ensure our homes include long-lasting, innovative products and features. We are proud to partner with brands that are putting sustainability at the forefront of their product development and operations.

ISO® 14001:2015

Clayton’s home building facilities continuously implement new, innovative methods and partnerships to divert waste from the landfill. Through efforts to reuse materials and identify recycling outlets, we can optimize the usage of building materials and help to reduce construction waste. In 2014, we launched our ISO® 14001 program,* the gold standard of environmental management systems, in all Clayton home building and Clayton Supply locations. Since then, we have significantly reduced waste in our operations through improved resource management and landfill diversion efforts. Learn more about ISO 14001.
