Our Story

Clayton was founded in 1956 when Tennessee native Jim Clayton sold his first home. His son, Kevin, grew up learning about the family business and became the CEO in 1999. Under their leadership and vision, we've helped millions of people become homeowners. And our decades of experience and innovation mean we offer today's buyers a variety of modern homes to fit any lifestyle.
